AdSense policy checklist

The criteria AdSense applications are most often rejected on, scored against a real site. Ten of them can be measured automatically; six can only be answered by you.

Enter a website address above to score it, or read the manual criteria below.

Judge these yourself

No automated check can score any of the following, and this is where most applications are actually decided.

The content is original and yours

Your own writing, data, screenshots or testing — not scraped feeds, syndicated blocks, auto-translations or spun text. No crawler can tell the difference; a reviewer can.

The content is useful to somebody specific

Each page should answer a real question completely. "Well written" isn't the bar; "worth landing on" is.

Nothing sits in a restricted category

Adult material, hacking or cracking, weapons and explosives, recreational drugs, counterfeit goods, and content that facilitates dishonest behaviour are all excluded by policy.

You have the right to publish everything on the site

Including images. Stock photos need a licence covering commercial use.

Traffic comes from legitimate sources

Purchased traffic, traffic exchanges, pop-unders, incentivised clicks and bots all breach policy at any volume. Organic search, social, newsletters and direct visits are fine even at near zero.

Your account details are in order

You're 18 or over, the payee name matches your bank account, the postal address can receive mail, and you don't already have an AdSense account.
